Season 2: The Chimp Who Cried Wolf — your opinion, please

Now that Daktari is streaming on the Roku channel, I am watching it more and more. The above-named episode features Morey Amsterstam, best known for playing Buddy on the Dick Van Dyke show. I find him to be very likable and was delighted to see him on Daktari playing Sammy Spots, a kindly comic who loves animals (of course!) and entertains children.

Paula (Cheryl Miller) is a huge fan of Spots and is happy to help him out recording various animal sounds. The two actors shared a lovely chemistry, showing Paula at her best.

Cheryl wore this outfit in the episode. Nice to see her in something different!

Spots, however, kept getting in Jack’s way, at one point accidentally allowing a bear (Dinky) that Jack had been studying to escape. Frankly, Jack was being the dink! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist). He was nasty, sarcastic, and condescending. Even after Spots brought Dinky back, Jack couldn’t thank him. At least at the end, he did admit to judging Spots harshly and apologized to him.

So, in this episode, we saw the best of Paula and the worst of Jack.

What do you think?

p.s. I watched “Little Miss Nightingale” next and saw Paula kiss Jack on the cheek!
